Canada 150: Celebrating Diversity and a Place of Gathering
Held in Fort Simpson at Edhaa National Historic Site of Canada (also known as the Papal Grounds where Pope John Paul II held mass in 1987). This beautiful site ioverlooks the grand confluence where the Mackenzie River meets the Liard River. Two local festivals have joined forces for this celebration: Open Sky and the Spring Gathering. This festival will feature: live entertainment, a Canada Day Parade, artist workshops, shop local bazaar, feast and drum dances, talent show, cultural activities and canoe races.
