Yellowknife Outdoor Adventures offers a variety of day trips ranging from 2 to 10 hours in all seasons for all ages. We can tailor outdoor day programs or packages to suit your needs.We also provide hotel accommodations in yellowknife.

Summer Activities: Great Slave Lake fish-fry lunch/dinner cruise, harbour tours trophy pike fishing, fly-fishing, lake trout fishing, birding, sightseeing, photography, scenic float plane fly-in, East Arm northern gourmet shore lunch fly-in, Virginia Falls/ Nahanni National Park Reserve fly-in.

Fall activities: wildlife viewing, Aurora viewing, fly-in tundra experience & caribou viewing.

Winter activities: Guided snowmobile excursions, Aurora viewing by snowmobile, dog sled rides, ice road tours, interpretive art tours, diamond cutting and polishing demos, guided interpretive snowshoeing excursions, fly-in caribou viewing.

Spring activities: Waterfowl migration & Tundra Swan observation.

Aurora

Aurora Adventures!
We deliver fall Aurora experiences from August 15 to September 30 and winter wonderland Auroras from November 15 to April 15. Winter Aurora Adventure Package: includes 3 nights hotel accommodation, 2 aurora viewing sessions on Great slave lake, ice road tour and diamond polishing demos.

Aurora Day Trips

We offer a variety of day & evening guided trips: snowmobile excursions, Aurora viewing by snowmobile, dog sled rides, ice road tours, interpretive art tours, guided interpretive snowshoeing excursions, and fly-in caribou viewing.

Aurora Packages

We offer fall aurora packages (august 15- september 20)
3 nights hotel accommodations
3 aurora viewing tours: includes hot beverages and snacks

Fishing Day Trips

Visiting Yellowknife? Looking for a fishing Adventure? We have a variety of pike fishing day trips on Great Slave Lake for you to choose from. All your tackle and gear is supplied. Come and experience trophy pike fishing with St-Croix rods and reels. No fishing experience needed! We offer lake trout and northern pike fishing packages.

Fly Fishing

Join us on a 6 hour pike fly-fishing day trip. All gear and tackle is supplied.

Lake Trout

Join us for world class lake trout fishing on the Great Bear lake. We offer 3-5-7 day packages from Yellowknife.

Northern Pike

Join us for world class trophy pike fishing on Great Slave lake. We are offering a 3 day trophy pike fishing package.
Includes 3 nights hotel accommodation,
3 days guided pike fishing, with a northern gourmet shore lunch. All fishing gear and tackle included.

Birding

Guided bird watching tours on the Great Slave Lake, one of the largest lakes in the world. You will have an opportunity to see bald eagles, caspian and arctic terns, gulls, waterfowl, “peeps” and more, nesting on the many islands dotting the watery entrance to Yellowknife. Your tour is topped off with a northern gourmet shore lunch prepared for you by your guide. In the spring time join us for waterfowl migration & tundra swan observation.

Ice Roads

Join us on a 2- or 4-hour ice road tour and a tour of Old Town and local art gallery

Dogsledding

A must do experience! Enjoy a dog sled ride or mush your own team. We can also arrange for your own group race.

Snowmobiling

We offer 2 and 4 hour guided snowmobile day time tours as well as Aurora viewing by snowmobile. Stop and warm up in our cozy lake cabin. All snowmobile clothing, boots and helmet included. Join us for a great outdoor experience!

Snowshoeing

Hear stories of survival and adaptation in the winter-scape of the boreal forest. Join your guide, "winter's narrator," for an interpretive snowshoe hike.

Wildlife Viewing

We offer a variety of wildlife viewing opportunities. Some can be delivered in a day trip while others require a 3-day trip.

Bald Eagle

Visit various nesting sites and observe the eagles in their hunting/fishing grounds on the Great Slave Lake. A northern gourmet shore lunch is provided on your adventure.

Caribou

We offer fall and winter fly-in day trips for caribou viewing as well as a 3 day packages in the fall.

Wood Bison

Wood Bison Tours
Great guided tour to the Mackenzie sanctuary to visit with one of the North’s largest residents, the wood bison. This excursion takes you into the heart of the boreal forest along the shore of Great Slave Lake’s North Arm to witness these magnificent animals. A northern gourmet outdoor lunch is provided as part of this trip.

Moose

Get up close and personal with this northern giant. We offer a 3-day moose viewing package.

We can book rooms at the hotel of your choice in Yellowknife.

Flightseeing

From Yellowknife we offer a selection of flight seeing day trips: East Arm fly-in & fish fry, Virginia Falls and the Nahanni National Park Reserve fly-in, Yellowknife scenic float plane and helicopter fly-in, and caribou viewing fly-in.

Sightseeing Day Trips

We have many unique day tours to offer: city sightseeing tour, Cameron Falls sightseeing tour, Yellowknife interpretive walks and hikes, boat tours on Great Slave lake, and Great Slave Lake dinner cruises.

Water Travel

We can accommodate up to 30 guests to travel on Great Slave lake for fish fries, sightseeing, birding, photography and fishing.
