Housekeeping Fishing Lodge

 One housekeeping cabin is perfect for families or honeymooners that want a self contained private cabin. This 960 sq foot cabin features a 3 piece bathroom with shower and bathtub, full kitchen, BBQ, large south facing deck, laundry, satellite TV and wireless internet. This one bedroom loft cabin can sleep up to 6 persons and is available for a 15% premium fee. Please ask for a reservation at least 30 days before occupancy.

We have a self-guided floating tent camp on a 14'x28' steel pontoon barge which sleeps up to 4 people. Comes with one - 16 foot boat and motor. Rent by the day or the week.

The lakes and streams offer the finest Lake Trout, Northern Pike, Walleye and Arctic Grayling in the region.

Yellow Dog Lodge is a comfortable lodge with 3 private cabins for our guests. The lodge is a short (15 minute) floatplane ride from Yellowknife.  Located on Duncan and Graham Lakes, the lodge is your hub for adventure. Choose from an additional 5 lakes for guided day trip excursions. Each lake is unique and offers unspoiled first class fishing. We are the only lodge that operates guided trips on each of these remote lakes located in the NWT taiga wilderness. Packaged trips feature superb sport fishing and safe outdoor adventure. The lakes and streams offer the finest Lake Trout, Northern Pike, Walleye and Arctic Grayling in the region. As an added bonus, our guests will enjoy the midnight sun and may even catch a glimpse of the northern lights later in the fall.

All-Inclusive Fishing Lodge

This all inclusive multi-activity fly-in fishing lodge is located only 15 minutes by float plane northeast of Yellowknife between Duncan and Graham Lakes.  Maximize your adventure time with our full American plan. All bedding, meals, equipment are provided with the base price. The only items not included are: fishing licences, liquor and guides. Guides are optional but, for a nominal charge, our guides will familiarize you with the rugged surrounding landscape. Our boats are 16 foot Lunds with 15/20 hp 4 stroke outboards. Our lodge site has a hot tub, sauna, buffet dining, lounge, outdoor gazebo, wireless internet and satellite TV.

You decide where you want to fish! There are 7 lakes to choose from: Graham and Duncan Lakes,  Johnston, Prestige, Wagentiz, Wolverine and Wedge Lakes. 2 rivers to fish: McRae and Nicholson Rivers and many other hidden lakes with Pike that have rarely seen a lure. Boat Tours

Enjoy the lakes and the rivers that surround our pristine wilderness by renting a boat and motor for the day. We also have other rentals available like spin fishing rods and reels, kayaks, canoes and paddle boats.

Campgrounds and Cabins
Summer

Be amazed at the wilderness of the North. Our floating tent camp is a one of a kind, unique experience that offers an outdoor adventure like no other. We have a self guided floating tent camp on a 14x28 foot steel pontoon barge that sleeps up to 4 people. This floating outpost can be moved to selec t sheltered locations and you can fish right off the decks.  The camp is outfitted with 2 bunks, 2 portable air beds, propane BBQ, propane stove, propane lights, portable outdoor toilet, wood tent heater, and lounge chairs. Comes with one (1) 16 foot boat and 15 hp motor. Rent by the day or the week. Minimum 5 day rental applies. Fuel and 600w generator is extra.

Wilderness Lodge
Summer

Wilderness camping or should we say "Glamping". We have 2 tent camps that float and can be transported around each lake. Each camp is slef contained and is avialabe for parties of  up to 4 persons.  A 5 day minimum excursion is required.  These camps are for the serious do-it-yourself wilderness camper and fisherperson. Paddling
Summer

Join us for some lake and white water river canoeing or kayaking. Our certified instructor will teach you the basic strokes and take you on a leisurely paddle around the lakes. We have a number of open Canadian canoes and flat water kayaks to choose from. There is nothing like paddling the McRae River in search of Grayling or site seeing Teed falls.

Fishing Day Trips

We have fishing excursions and fly-out day trips. We can customize your trip to suit your tastes and needs. Each lake is different and holds different species of fish. Take one of four 2 - 14 foot jon boats with new 8 hp 4 stroke engines. Wagenitz Lake is our untouched jewel, the largest of the 5 remote lakes it cannot be fished in just one day; you will want to come back for more - especially in the fall when the Lake Trout are up shallow and spawning in the flowing water. Johnston Lake is our Walleye lake, hundreds of Walleye can be caught in a single day. Prestige is the pretty lake offering lots of Lake Trout and monster Pike on the Nicholson river. Wolverine Lake is a lake you can boat, hike and canoe to without the need for an additional float plane charter.  And Wedge Lake is yet to be discovered, but reports say of lots of Lake Trout and Pike are lurking in its countless bays. We also have 2 other small ponds chocked full of Northern Pike and 2 rivers in which to explore and fish.

Fly Fishing

Summer

Try your hand at flyfishing. We have caught Pike, Trout, Grayling and even Walleyes on a fly. Flyfishing for Lake Trout is best in the fall with white/chartreuse clousers. Northern Pike is best fished during June/July with large streamers, salmon flies and colorful patterns. Grayling are best fished in our streams during July with dry flys, mosquitoes and bead head nymphs. Walleye like woolly buggers, leach imitations and terrestrials fished deep in July and August. No matter what your quarry is Yellow Dog Lodge has something for you.

Facilities
Summer

Hold your business meeting in a remote wilderness setting.  Experience the warmth and privacy in this remote lodge.  View the Northern Lights or take a fishing excursion to round out your team-building events. We have 2 lounges a dining room and a screened in gazebo in which to hold breakout sessions.  A private cabin is avialable for larger groups. Audio visual equipment, satellite internet and computer printing services are available. The lodge is fully licensed with fine selections of beer, wine, spirts and liqueurs.

Meetings & Conferences

Our lodge is perfect for meetings and corporate retreats up to 16 persons. We have 2 lounges, a dining room and an outdoor screened gazebo for those private meetings.

Nature & Wildlife
Summer

Don't forget your cameras; there is an abundance of wildlife and flora to photograph. Bear, wolf, moose, eagles, owls, muskrats, otters, loons, upland and migratory birds all make their home around the region. We offer lots of outdoor adventure experiences: paddling, nature hikes, photography are all part of the outdoor wilderness experience.
