Crafting the fabric of life 

One of the North’s most distinctive craftshops is found in tiny Fort McPherson, a Gwich’in community along the side of the Dempster Highway. For decades the town has been home to the Fort McPherson Tent & Canvas Shop, an artisanal workshop where local seamstresses create everything from backpacks to hockey bags to tipis.
