Lean in close. We have a secret to share.

It's about our Secrets of the Northwest Territories Contest.

In honour of Canada’s 150th birthday, we're giving away 150 round-trip Air Canada  tickets to the Northwest Territories – plus, five regional “super prizes.” Each super prize includes airline travel to the Northwest Territories for two people, local transportation, hotel accommodation and a sampling of activities in one of our five remarkable tourism regions.

Super-prize winners will be selected in April. Sign up now. Here's what's awaiting you in the great North Slave, home to the best fishing and Aurora-viewing in the world.

First, board your flight to the capital of the North

We'll fly you and a friend from Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton or Vancouver.

You'll arrive in Yellowknife, the rugged-yet-refined capital of the Northwest Territories, on the gleaming shores of Great Slave Lake in one of the world's last truly wild places.

Then bunk down in a room with a view

You'll be treated to four nights' stay at the North's finest inn, the Explorer Hotel, towering over the heart of the city and offering stellar views of ancient lakes, virgin boreal forest and the gold-laden outcrops of the Precambrian shield.

Fish like you've never fished before

If you come in summer, we'll take you fishing for monster Pike and Trout on famous Great Slave Lake.

soar the skies over Yellowknife

You'll also go on a flightseeing tour over Yellowknife and the surrounding frontier, witnessing the city, nearby Dene villages, shimmering lakes, and possibly Northern wildlife.

Now take a hike to beloved Cameron Falls

It's time to stretch your legs. Take a hike to Yellowknife's favourite destination, beloved Cameron Falls, in Hidden Lake Territorial Park.

When you return to town, more adventures are waiting, including golfing beneath the midnight sun at the Yellowknife country club, touring the famous Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre, and visiting the hangar of Buffalo Airways, made famous on reality TV.

Witness the Northern Lights at night

In winter, you'll enjoy three nights of Aurora viewing in the finest place on the Earth to witness this heavenly spectacle. We offer all sorts of ways to see the Northern Lights: on a dog-sledding tour, or from a cozy wilderness cabin, or from the heated outdoor seats at famous Aurora Village.

And experience the wonders of the northland by day

During the days, we'll keep you busy with a range of other adventures. You'll get a tour of the city, visit the hangar of Buffalo Airways (famous from reality TV), and explore the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre.

You'll also experience Great Slave Lake ice-fishing, and an excursion to the ice caves of Back Bay.
