Fishing for Arctic Char

Fish our Arctic rivers. Arctic char migrate to and from the sea in spring and late summer. During the autumn run, steel-cold rivers on the Arctic coast and islands teem with big, bright red char as they battle their way to spawning grounds.

The char run is an occasion for northern families to set up camp by a river and fill the pantry for winter. Visitors can travel with a local family or stop in for a visit on a four-wheeler or boat tour along the coast with a local outfitter and guide.
