When you are eating out, try a northern specialty. Fresh whitefish, arctic char, lake trout, pike and pickerel are often on the menu. Muskox, bison and caribou are also northern delicacies.
Our local airlines and charter services can be hired for an hour or a half day or more for flightseeing. You pay by the hour and the size of the aircraft. Two or three people can split the cost for a very economical scenic tour.
Hotels
Our hotels are usually locally owned or part of a small local chain. Hotels in the larger communities have a variety of services, including television, clock radio, iron and hair dryer. Some offer an in house spa. The larger hotels have a restaurant, a lounge, and often cater to business people with services they require.
In some small communities, hotels may take the form of a large house with shared bath facilities, a dining area, kitchen and a lounge area with television. Other communities have a fully equipped small hotel, similar to a small lodge.
