First, a faint glow. Is that a cloud or – ? The colour freshens, from dim green to lime. It begins to wriggle, then billow. It reaches across the sky, subdivides, splits again. Tongues of red erupt, and the heavens are on fire. Ooooh! You realize you're gasping audibly, squealing, cooing. Don't be embarrassed. That's just what happens when you watch the Northern Lights.
