At historic Fort Simpson, take a trip back in time

For eons, Fort Simpson has been a gathering place – here, at the confluence of the Liard and Mackenzie, Dene and newcomers joined to fish, trade, worship and celebrate. Today, the past remains palpable here, at historic attractions like the cabin of tough-as-nails goldseeker Albert Faile, the old Catholic mission, and the riverfront site where Pope John Paul II held mass for the Indigenous people of Canada.
