Fort Simpson Territorial Park

This idyllic park overlooks the confluence of the Mackenzie and Liard rivers, yet is within walking distance of the centre of town. The adjoining Papal Site commemorates the 1987 visit of Pope John Paul ll. This is a great location for bird-watching, while the nearby community trail links several historic sites around the perimetre of the community. The campground features 20 powered and 12 non-powered sites, as well as washrooms and showers, drinking water, firewood, a kitchen shelter and a playground.
