Blachford Lake Lodge is a remote fly-in only wilderness lodge, that offers ideal Aurora viewing conditions. At Blachford Lake Lodge you can view the northern lights all night long - from the comfort of your own room, from the dining room and lounge areas, from two aurora viewing decks, the hot tub or sauna deck, from the tipi, or anywhere outside close to your lodge room or cabin, or walk onto the lake for a 360° view of the sky! Enjoy an exclusive, front row seat for nature's own light show outside your window. Choose one of our viewing decks, the hot tub with the million dollar view, or the Aurora sized windows in the main lodge.

In addition to Aurora viewing, enjoy relaxing and using the winter gear and participating in the activities available to you. Blachford Lake Lodge is only accessible by bush plane on floats or skis. Once there, we have it all in one location: Aurora viewing, outdoor activities, and true Canadian wilderness adventures just a few steps away from your room or cabin and all our amenities. Due to our remote location there is no light pollution from nearby towns, cities, cabins, or road traffic. We are true wilderness - you won’t see anyone other than fellow lodge guests and staff while you are a guest with us. Spend your day relaxing or enjoy some of the available outdoor activities, then view the northern lights as long as you wish!

For more than 25 years, Blachford has been a haven of superb catch and release fishing. Fish under the Midnight Sun in June/July, or combine fishing with Aurora viewing in August. Winter fishing experience available in winter months. The clean waters of 17 km-long Blachford Lake offer an abundance of:

  • Northern Pike
  • Whitefish
  • Pickerel (Walleye) can be fished on two adjoining lakes

Rates include air charter, meals, lodge room or cabin, and unlimited use of seasonal equipment like motorboats and canoes.

Blachford Lake Lodge has a collection of skis and boots, skates, and snowshoes for our guests. Just ask the staff, who will help you find your size and set you on your way. Travel on your own, or with a guide. Skiers and snowshoers can follow marked nature trails, watching for wildlife tracks - foxes, ptarmigan, ravens, lynx, rabbits and more.
