(403) 668-9936Try your hand at flyfishing. We have caught Pike, Trout, Grayling and even Walleyes on a fly. Flyfishing for Lake Trout is best in the fall with white/chartreuse clousers. Northern Pike is best fished during June/July with large streamers, salmon flies and colorful patterns. Grayling are best fished in our streams during July with dry flys, mosquitoes and bead-head nymphs. Walleye like woolly buggers, leach imitations and terrestrials fished deep in July and August. No matter what your quarry is Yellow Dog Lodge has something for you.

We have fishing excursions and fly-out day trips. We can customize your trip to suit your tastes and needs. Each lake is different and holds different species of fish. Take one of four 2 - 14 foot jon boats with new 8 hp 4 stroke engines. Wagenitz Lake is our untouched jewel, the largest of the 5 remote lakes it cannot be fished in just one day; you will want to come back for more - especially in the fall when the Lake Trout are up shallow and spawning in the flowing water. Johnston Lake is our Walleye lake, hundreds of Walleye can be caught in a single day. Prestige is the pretty lake offering lots of Lake Trout and monster Pike on the Nicholson river. Wolverine Lake is a lake you can boat, hike and canoe to without the need for an additional float plane charter. And Wedge Lake is yet to be discovered, but reports say of lots of Lake Trout and Pike are lurking in its countless bays. We also have 2 other small ponds chocked full of Northern Pike and 2 rivers in which to explore and fish.
