Discover Yellowknife – City Tour

See more of Yellowknife on a relaxed and entertaining tour of the city with your host, Sheldon.

We’ll pick you up right at your door and explore Yellowknife from the comfort of our highway coach. Along the way, you’ll experience different sides of the city — from Old Town to Downtown and Uptown — while visiting some of Yellowknife’s well-known landmarks.

Stops and highlights can include the Yellowknife sign, Bristol Monument, Old Town, Pilot’s Monument and the Visitor Centre, where you can get a certificate to mark your visit north of the 60th parallel.

Sheldon first came to Yellowknife as a visitor himself seven years ago and ended up falling in love with the North and staying. Who knows — you might love it so much you won’t want to leave either!

When the tour is over, we’ll drop you back off right at your door.

Dene Way Adventures is owned and operated by Herman Gahdële.

Dene Way offers land-based trips and cultural learning rooted in Łutsël K’é Dene knowledge, language, and teachings. We operate primarily in Thaidene Nëné (the East Arm of Great Slave Lake), with departures also available from Yellowknife, on Chief Drygeese Territory (Yellowknives Dene First Nation).

Herman wants to create safe, respectful opportunities for people to experience the land through the Dene worldview he learned from his grandparents, family, and Elders. Having grown up traditionally on the land, he looks forward to taking people out, sharing his knowledge, and spending time together on the water, on the land, and along the winter trails.

We offer day boat trips, fishing lessons, and multi-day adventures on the water with world-class fishing. Travel with Herman along his ancestral routes as he shares Dene stories, teachings, and traditional knowledge, while experiencing a traditional camp on the land. We also offer snowmobile guiding, school programs and community workshops.

Lush boreal forests, sparkling freshwater lakes, and nearly endless daylight. Summer at Blachford Lodge is defined by long, golden evenings and immersive days in the Northwest Territories wilderness. From June through August, guests experience the magic of the midnight sun, with up to 20 hours of daylight to explore, unwind, and reconnect with nature. Paddle across pristine lakes, hike through vibrant taiga landscapes, and enjoy the stillness of a remote, off-grid setting.

  • A deposit of 50% of the total package price is required to confirm your booking.

  • We accept direct deposit, e-Transfer, Bank Draft, credit card via Flywire, or wire transfer

Cancellation Policy:

  • Deposit is refundable until 61 days prior to arrival except for an administration fee of $1000
  • 60-0 days prior to departure, trip is non-refundable
  • Bookings with our Prepayment Offers (with additional 5% or 10% discounts) cannot be cancelled and are non-refundable
