Midway Lake Festival
Taking place August 1–4, 2025, near Fort McPherson, NWT, the Midway Lake Festival marks its 40th anniversary as a cherished celebration of Gwich’in culture, music, and community. This alcohol-free, family-friendly gathering features traditional fiddling, square dancing, jigging contests, canoe races, and nightly jam sessions under the midnight sun.
The 2025 lineup includes performances by Teetl’it Gwich’in Dancers, Fort Good Hope Drummers, Nolan Kasook & the Teetl’it Zheh Young Fiddlers, Marie-Yah Snowshoe, Joel West, Shaylynn Charlie, and many more. Highlights include children’s and adult jigging contests, Sunday church service, and a grand closing old-time dance.
For four days, the shores of Midway Lake become a vibrant meeting place where culture, music, and northern spirit shine.
