The Gallery on 47th Street is a family-owned, local art gallery. We’re focused on providing a venue for artists to exhibit new collections in a professional, dedicated space.

Old Town Glassworks

Etching popular northern designs on unique 100% recycled glass, since 1994. Visit our gift shop or come by for a workshop and make your own souvenir. We have an assortment of glasses, bowls, vases, premium soy candles, scented soaps and much more. Visit our on-line store to learn more.  Glass Workshops offered daily out of our small Old Town location nestled into the rock. It includes 1-2 hours of instruction, a glass in the style and colour of your choice, northern images and personal engraving. Call to book your reservation 669-7654.

This is the NWT’s largest gallery and gift shop offering fine arts and crafts from across the North. Located in Yellowknife’s historic Old Town, in a traditional trading post style setting. We carry a wide selection of outerwear, tees and sweatshirts, northern apparel, books, souvenirs, furs and craft supplies. We offer a fine selection of Canadian diamonds and jewellery. Not just a place to shop, Gallery of the Midnight Sun is an authentic northern experience.

 

NWT Diamond Centre

Come experience the true beauty of Canadian diamonds. We feature and sell a variety of loose diamonds, mined, cut, and polished in the Northwest Territories. We also display an arrangement of set jewellery that embodies the unique origin and stunning rarity of diamonds from the Canadian North.

We tell the stories of Diavik and Snap Lake Mine – located 300 kilometers north of Yellowknife – is told in this interpretive exhibit. We showcase the fascinating geology of kimberlite deposits, the technology of mining in the sub-arctic, and the process to turn a rough stone in a beautiful diamond. You can purchase diamonds on site that have been mined, cut and polished in the NWT.

Aurora Bayside Inn

Located on the shore of Great Slave Lake, the 5th largest in North America, and a short walk from Pilots Monument, where a great panorama of the city can be enjoyed. We are conscientious about our guest’s experiences staying at the Inn.  We will do whatever we can to enhance the enjoyment of your stay!

Our inn features an expansive upper deck – open to all guests and a generously sized lower deck – for Northern Skies room guests.  In addition, we offer a floating dock, where you can fish or relax in one of our Muskoka deck chairs in the summer.  In the winter, you can strap on your skis on the dock and head out on the lake ski trails.

We have a great expanse of sky viewable from our guest lounge – great year round, but especially for fall and winter aurora tourists!

We are located in the unique and eclectic neighborhood of Old Town, which has plenty to offer in terms of food, culture, shopping, and scenic look outs!

Our Cabin B&B

Located at the end of Ragged Ass Road just steps from Great Slave Lake, our B&B is a unique Yellowknife experience with clean and simple accommodation.

Walking distance to Bullock’s Bistro, the NWT Brewing Company, Gallery of the Midnight Sun, and a short hike to Yellowknife’s city centre.

Self-serve breakfast will include coffee, tea, bottled water, yogurt, fruit, and a pastry. Guests are not permitted to cook in our B&B. Microwave is provided.

We welcome tourists and business travelers. No smoking, no pets, and no unregistered guest(s) permitted in the house or on the property.

Great Slave Lakeside Bed & Breakfast

Located in the heart of Yellowknife’s Historic Old Town!  Great Slave Lakeside B&B is a fully licensed bed & breakfast situated directly on Back Bay of Great Slave Lake.  A large bay window offers wonderful views of the lake, landscape and wildlife. The property also offers direct lake access for viewing the beautiful Aurora Borealis.  This is truly accommodation on nature’s doorstep!

Great Slave Lakeside Bed & Breakfast is made up of three rooms: one large room with a king-sized bed, queen-sized sofa bed and living area; a kitchenette equipped with everything you need to cook your own meals.  The third room is a private bathroom with a claw foot tub and separate shower.  Our space is ideal for a couple, 3 adults or young family of four. Self-serve coffee, tea and continental breakfast options are provided.  All amenities including linens, towels and bathroom toiletries are available. 

Great Slave Lakeside B&B is located within walking distance to many Old Town restaurants, shops and attractions including Bullock’s Bistro, NWT Brewing Company (pub/restaurant), Down to Earth Gallery and Pilot’s Monument.

Welcome to Old Town Bed & Breakfast – where you can live like the locals do! Old Town B&B is located on Back Bay of Great Slave Lake and the property has beautiful lake views year round. If you want to get the true Northern experience, Old Town Bed & Breakfast is the place for you.

We strive to make our home comfortable and welcoming for people of all cultures and backgrounds. Our home is an LGBTQ2S+ affirming space.

Old Town Bed & Breakfast has two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed and can accommodate up to 4 guests per party. Guests have their own separate entrance, as well as a private kitchen, living room, dining room, and bathroom. 

Old Town Bed & Breakfast is the perfect place for viewing Aurora Borealis (northern lights). The suite looks out on Back Bay of Great Slave Lake and if the aurora are out, guests in the master bedroom can watch them dance over the bay from their bed! Or cozy up on the couch and watch them from the living room. Walk through the yard to the lake and sit on Adirondack chairs to gaze up at the sky.

Old Town Bed & Breakfast is proud to be a member of the Yellowknife Old Town community. Our space is cozy and comfortable and perfect for viewing the Aurora Borealis. It is newly renovated, tastefully decorated, and the perfect home away from home. Sleep in in the comfortable queen size beds after a long night of aurora chasing. Warm up with hot chocolate after snowshoeing on the bay just outside the door. Cook your own delicious meals in the fully equipped kitchen. 

We serve Barren Ground Coffee – roasted in the neighbourhood less than a kilometre away, and local delicacies like Northern cranberries are often featured in our continental, self-serve breakfast. 

If guests are feeling adventurous they can go cross country skiing on a track set by a neighbour on the lake or walk across Back Bay to visit the Yellowknife Ice Caves. In the summer, rent a canoe and explore the local house boat community, or enjoy a drink on the deck watching the float planes take off.
