Started in 2019, Caribou People Creations is a service provided by Łutsël K’é Dene First Nation to assist local artists with marketing their products. There are two large glass display cases filled with local arts and crafts at the First Nation Office in Łutsël K’é where visitors can purchase items.
Łutsël K’é worked for many decades to protect their land for future generations and for the health of the Earth. The result was the establishment of the Thaıdene Nëné Indigenous Protected Area, which includes Thaıdene Nëné National Park Reserve, a territorial protected area, and a wildlife conservation area. Łutsël K’é has a long tradition of working in tourism, having three NWT fishing lodges in their territory for over 60 years. The community also have a long history in arts and crafts production. Still, the creation of the protected area has encouraged the expansion of the local tourism economy including fostering arts and crafts. The First Nation also owns and operates the newly renovated Frontier Lodge.

Not just a place to shop, Gallery of the Midnight Sun is an authentic northern experience.
Come experience the true beauty of Canadian diamonds. We feature and sell a variety of loose diamonds, mined, cut, and polished in the Northwest Territories. We also display an arrangement of set jewellery that embodies the unique origin and stunning rarity of diamonds from the Canadian North.
We tell the stories of Diavik and Snap Lake Mine – located 300 kilometers north of Yellowknife – is told in this interpretive exhibit. We showcase the fascinating geology of kimberlite deposits, the technology of mining in the sub-arctic, and the process to turn a rough stone in a beautiful diamond.
