Two Hour Authentic Dogsledding Tour

North of 60 Aurora Adventures

Embark on an exhilarating dog sledding tour through the breathtaking boreal winter wonderland near Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.

Glide across a frozen lake as you become part of an age-old tradition that showcases the deep bond between northerners and their loyal sled dogs. Dog sled rides are approximately 25 minutes each, and total tour is approx. 2 hours, pending group size.

There are two sessions per day for dog sledding; The first session starts at 12, and if there are more than 16 people booked, the second group will start at 2. We will contact all who are in the second group to confirm their pickup times. If you are not contacted you will be picked up at the regularly scheduled time.

This tour is a total of 4.5-hours of scenic drives and adventure that blends land-based knowledge, storytelling, language, and the natural beauty of the North. Explore scenic viewpoints, learn Dene history, and walk to iconic places like Cameron Falls and the Ramparts with guides deeply connected to the land and its stories.

What You’ll Experience

  • Guided drive along the scenic Ingraham Trail with local stories shared throughout
  • Dene history, legends, and traditional land-based knowledge
  •  A guided hike to Cameron Falls (approx. 1.2 km, about 20 minutes each way) with boardwalks, rocks, staircases, and short steep embankments
  • A shorter, gentler walk to the Ramparts, featuring hardened pathways, boardwalks, and a staircase-bridge to a stunning viewpoint
  • Photo opportunities, scenic lookouts, and meaningful moments connecting with the land
  • Small-group experience with a focus on respect, safety, and connection

Duration: 4.5 hours

Activity Level: Easy to moderate

Recommended: Sturdy hiking shoes, water, weather-appropriate layers, and sun protection

Not recommended for: Guests with mobility concerns due to natural terrain. Guides adjust the pace based on group comfort.

Łı́ı́dlı̨ı̨ Kų́ę́ (Fort Simpson), “the place where the rivers come together” is a village on the Dehcho Region of Canada’s Northwest Territories. The community is located on an island where the Dehcho (Mackenzie River) and the Nácháh Dehé (Liard River) meet.

Cozy Cabin Aurora Tours

We are local with plenty of Northern stories to share. Our tours are small and the cabin is cozy. This tour gives guest the opportunity to ‘hunt the aurora from the cabin’ while enjoying northern stories, a midnight lunch of fish chowder and hot bannock, and enjoy an assortment of teas. Guests are invited to bring a beverage of their choice to celebrate under the aurora. We have fun Northern clothing for photos.

Cost – $135.00 per person plus GST and fees. Children 12 and under $115.00 plus GST and fees. This is a seasonal tour that runs from August to April; Please check BucketListTour.com for availability.
