MSYK’s mandate is to drive sustainable economic diversification and community self-reliance through sharing, collaboration, and empowering the already innovative and resilient residents of Yellowknife and the Northwest Territories with the tools (in the broadest sense of the word) they need to grow their economy and community. MSYK’s vision is to empower and provide a space for individuals to gain confidence, build practical skills and grow creatively so that we can build a stronger, more resilient, and vibrant community together. We deliver our mandate through programming and access to our facility which houses a fully-outfitted wood workshop, digital fabrication space (Hackspace), and multimedia art and event space (Artspace).
Ever Good Medicine is owned and operated by Carl Jr. Kodakin-Yakeleya, a Shúhtagot’ine man (Mountain People) originally from Délı̨nę and Tulita First Nations in the Sahtú region of NWT. Now based in Yellowknife, he offers a variety of programs and services such as Medicine Walks, Retreats, Apprenticeships and Group Workshops about Traditional Dene Medicines in the NWT that teach the protocols and values to follow when gathering them.
From the beginning, we’ve strived to bring Yellowknife the best fitness experience possible, and over the years we’ve adapted to accommodate the needs of the many diverse individuals that have walked through our doors. With 4 international sizes squash courts, 2 studio spaces, a spin studio, 2 fully-equipped weight rooms, cardio room and ample event space, YKRC brings a level of luxury to the Yellowknife gym scene that no others can.
