This experience begins with a 30 minute dogsled ride on a frozen lake that takes you away from the city lights. Upon return, you can warm up in our traditional log cabin heated by a woodstove and filled with Indigenous artifacts and furs, while listening to our guides’ storytelling.

Spring in the Boreal Wilderness

Looking for a thrill and a bit of a challenge? Spring in the NWT is the ideal time to see bears from Cinnamon, brown, blonde, and jet black bears can be found in this area. The NWT holds thousands of square miles of boreal wilderness, providing ample habitat for bears. Observing these magnificent animals in their natural environment is an unforgettable experience.

At this time of year it’s common to see multiple bears a day and on a “bear day” when the conditions are favorable 5-12 bear is normal, Most bears are solid black, to black with a white blaze, Our bears will average 5 1/2 – 6 feet squared with the monster boars going 7 feet.
